A bosal is a nose band made of braided rawhide and used with a headstall to make a hackamore. Macates normally used for reins. Tied as a hackamore, these hand braided bosals are excellent training devices in the old vaquero tradition. Hand braided on a rawhide core shown with 12-plait cheeks and 24-plait nose band. The Bosal Shaper is a great device to keep your bosal the correct shape when not in use. Custom Bosals by Jim McKinney or Ismael Renteria are also available if you want something made.
